CURAA – Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or interacting with CURAA hardware prototypes, firmware repositories, local data-logging scripts, or companion software interfaces, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services & Prototype Scope

CURAA V2 is an ESP32-based hardware development platform designed to capture synchronized IMU motion telemetry and digital microphone audio streams. Experimental features include:

• Multi-sensor synchronization (16,000 Hz Audio + 50 Hz IMU)
• Raw binary data streaming over high-speed Serial (921,600 baud)
• Local dataset generation (WAV audio files and structured telemetry CSVs)
• Classification testing for behavioural events (e.g., scratching, shaking, barking, whining, falls)

3. Research & Hardware Disclaimer

CURAA V2 is a prototype research asset. It is not certified as a consumer product, commercial pet tracker, or veterinary medical device. It does not include GPS tracking, cellular geofencing, or clinical vital sign evaluation. All outputs are strictly for research, dataset collection, and algorithm development.

4. User Responsibilities & Hardware Safety

Users agree to:

• Ensure correct voltage regulation (3.3V operating limits for INMP441 and MPU6050 components).
• Safely house and attach hardware to ensure pet comfort, eliminating exposure to raw electronics, loose wiring, or open circuits.
• Keep host environment serial drivers, Python scripts, and Arduino dependencies updated.

5. System Access & Termination

CURAA reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to firmware binaries, data schemas, or development platforms if a user misuses the hardware, alters code parameters unsafely, or violates intellectual property protections.

6. Intellectual Property

All firmware architecture, FreeRTOS task configurations, hardware schemas, ingestion scripts, trademarks, and trained behavioural AI models are the exclusive property of CURAA, unless otherwise stated.

7. Limitation of Liability

CURAA shall not be liable for:

• Hardware malfunctions, component shorts, or thermal degradation caused by improper wiring or voltage misuse.
• Behavioural omissions, unlogged events, or dataset corruption from buffer overflows or serial packet drops.
• Pet welfare, injuries, or circumstances arising during independent testing.

8. Warranty Disclaimer

The V2 platform is provided strictly “as-is”, without commercial runtime warranties, uptime guarantees, or component lifecycle assurances.

9. Privacy Policy

All practices regarding sensor tracking, microphone data capture, and telemetry ingestion are subject to the CURAA Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kolkata, West Bengal.

11. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CURAA, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from misuse of the hardware, software, or datasets.

12. Third-Party Services

CURAA may integrate with third-party libraries, repositories, or cloud services. CURAA is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of such third-party services.

13. Compliance with Laws

Users must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws when using CURAA prototypes, datasets, or applications.

14. Force Majeure

CURAA shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, or regulatory restrictions.
